Post Hospital weakness

Hospital admission is a stressful experience for most of us but especially for elderly, as this can affect their mobility (movement), strength, confidence and function. This results in significant increase of their care and puts pressure on family and caregivers. If not treated promptly patients can develop other health complications such as pneumonia, contractures, clot formation, bed sores and urinary tract infection. Unfortunately some elderly patients never regain their previous level of function and become permanently bed bound.

Our Program includes:
  •
Exercise programs to improve movement, prevent or decrease weakness caused by lack of use and maintain range of motion
  •
Activities to improve strength, mobility, walking, and balance
  •
Assistance with activities of daily living, such as eating, dressing, bathing and toileting
  •
Gait (walking) training with walking aids that promote independence
  •
Patient and family education on condition and recourses
  •
Recommendations for home environment modification to improve safety.
  •
    Pain management
  •
    Involvement in community support groups
  •
Recommendation on equipment or orthotics if needed.
