Joint Replacement Therapy

Joint replacement is a surgery that removes a damaged joint and replaces it with a new joint. This procedure can relieve pain and improve function. Hip and knee replacement are the most common surgeries but other joints can be replaced including shoulder, elbow and ankles.

Patients usually are discharge from hospitals after total hip replacement with a one to 2 weeks exercise program and need a supervised exercise program for approximately 3 months for a successful surgical outcome. On The Go Physio can help you after or before your surgery to achieve successful outcomes by careful supervision and assisted exercise programs to prevent complications after surgery.

Patients with a knee replacement usually get few sessions in hospital based out-patient physiotherapy, but we understand that some of you take time to regain your level of confidence, strength and function back therefore we can assist you with some extra sessions along with your hospital-based physiotherapy.
